Thomas Medicus

Thomas Medicus, born in 1953, studied German studies, political sciences and art history in Marburg / Lahn. PHD in 1982. He worked as a freelance journalist (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany radio, Basel newspaper among others) and editor at Der Tagesspiegel in Berlin and Frankfurter Rundschau. 2001 as well as in 2006 he was Fellow of "The Society of the Federal Republic" at the Hamburg Institute of Social Research. In 2007 he was Goethe-Munk-Writer at the Munk Centre for Internationally Affairs at the University of Toronto. Since February 2008 Thomas Medicus is Visiting Scholar at the Hamburg Institute of Social Research. He lives with his family for more than twenty years in Berlin.
