Amanda Michalopoulou, born in 1966, studied French Literature in Athens. She worked as a columnist for a daily newspaper and as a critic for literature and arts. She has published five novels, a short story collection and many children books. Her novels explore the role of the writer, the influence of the past and the reliability of the text. Amanda Michalopoulou was an artist in residence in Künstlerhaus Schloß Wiepersdorf, near to Berlin and in Schloss Solitude. She was a DAAD fellow, got a grant at LCB and was awarded numerous prices, one of them the most important literature award of Greece. Her novels have been translated to German, Italian and Swedish. Her last novel Princess Lizard was published in 2007. |
