Edgar Rai was born in 1967. After being expelled from several schools he spent a year in  the US. He studied musicology and English in Marburg and Berlin. He earned money as a scriptwriter, basketball coach, choirmaster, craftsman and online editor. Ever since resigning from the only permanent position he ever had in 2001, he works as a freelance author.
