Cornelia Travnicek was born in 1987 and lives in Lower Austria. She studied sinology and computer sciences and works part time as a researcher at the Zentrum für Virtual Reality und Visualisierung in Vienna. She translates short prose works and poetry from Chinese. In 2012 she was invited to the Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis with an exercpt of her novel Junge Hunde for which she received the audience award. Chucks was made into a movie in 2015 (DOR Film, Ertl-Hlebler).
