Wiebke Spannuth, born in 1965 in Hamburg, grew up in Jakarta, Bruxelles and two lower saxonian villages. She studied literature, sociology and history in Freiburg as well as journalism at the University for Music and Drama in Hannover. After that she worked as a journalist at the NDR and the SWR, became editor at the WELT in Hamburg. Then she worked as a self-employed consultant for public relations. During that time she became a member of the Forum of Hamburg authors and published numerous pieces of prose in magazines and anthologies. She lives with her Irish husband and two children in Hamburg.
