Cornelia Travnicek was born in 1987 in St.Pölten, Lower Austria, and lives in Traismauer and Vienna. She is recently studying sinology and informatics at the University of Vienna. In her spare time she undertakes lengthy journeys through Europe and Asia. She received the author's Award of the ministry of education, art and culture for Die Asche meiner Schwester in 2008.
