Matthias Wittekindt was born in 1958 in Bonn. After studying architecture and philosophy of religion in Berlin and London he worked as an architect. Then some years as a stage director followed. Since 2000 Wittekindt works as a freelance author: For his radio plays, TV documentations (both represented by Rowohlt media agency) and stage plays he was awarded with numerous prizes. In 2004, his novel Sog was published at Eichborn Berlin. Wittekindt has a daughter and lives in Berlin.
