Rebecca Maria Salentin was born in 1979 in a small village in the Eifel. After graduating from high school she worked in various side jobs, for instance as a landscape gardener, as a kitchen porter and as an assistant with the literary magazine EDIT. She read at the 13th open-mike contest, was a fellow at Literarisches Colloquium Berlin as well as in the Villa Decius, Cracow, has published in magazines and anthologies and took part in the 11th Klagenfurter Literaturkurs. 2009 she set up the summer café ZierlichManierlich in an old circus caravan in Leipzig.
